Rank1Local is committed to safeguarding the personal information of every bidder, business owner, and consumer who engages with our Temecula-based bidding marketplace and its expansion across Southern California. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, how long it is retained, and the rights afforded to California residents under the CCPA and CPRA.
Effective date: January 1, 2024
Rank1Local collects information necessary to operate its real-time bidding marketplace for local home service businesses across Temecula and the broader Southern California region. In the preceding twelve (12) months, the categories of personal and business information collected include:
Rank1Local does not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information beyond those described in Section 4, and does not collect precise geolocation data beyond what is required to confirm city-level bidding eligibility.
Rank1Local obtains the categories of personal information described above from:
Rank1Local uses collected information for the following documented business and commercial purposes:
Rank1Local does not use personal information for purposes materially different from those disclosed at or before the point of collection without providing additional notice as required by the CCPA/CPRA.
Rank1Local collects a limited category of sensitive personal information: account login credentials (username and password) required to access the bidder dashboard. This information is used solely to authenticate account access and is not disclosed for cross-context behavioral advertising. Rank1Local does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those necessary to provide marketplace services, and California residents may direct Rank1Local to limit use of sensitive personal information as described in Section 6.
Rank1Local discloses limited categories of information to the following classes of service providers, strictly to support marketplace operations:
Rank1Local does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Certain advertising and analytics integrations may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of internet activity information and identifiers as broadly defined under the CCPA/CPRA; California residents may opt out as described in Section 7.
As Rank1Local's operations are concentrated in Temecula and greater Southern California, residents of California are afforded specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
California residents may submit a verifiable consumer request using the contact details in Section 12, or through an authorized agent registered with the California Secretary of State or holding written permission to act on the consumer's behalf. Rank1Local will:
Rank1Local recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid method for California residents to exercise the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information when a browser or extension sends this signal. California residents may also submit an opt-out request directly using the contact details in Section 12.
The Rank1Local marketplace is directed to business owners and adult consumers seeking local home services in Temecula and Southern California. Rank1Local does not knowingly collect personal information from, or sell or share the personal information of, consumers under sixteen (16) years of age. Any person who believes a minor has provided personal information to Rank1Local should contact us using the details in Section 12 so that the information can be removed.
Rank1Local retains each category of personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in Section 3, or as required by law:
Data no longer necessary for these purposes is securely deleted or de-identified.
Rank1Local implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and business information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission, access-controlled administrative systems, and routine review of vendor security practices for payment processors and API integrations. No system of transmission or storage can be guaranteed as completely secure; Rank1Local continually evaluates and strengthens its security posture.
Rank1Local maintains a documented compliance standard governing any cold-outreach script, email, or call template referencing business rankings within the platform. Such outreach materials are only distributed when every business named or described in the script is a real, enrolled advertiser on the Rank1Local marketplace and the ranking position disclosed to that business reflects its actual, current standing under the Quality x Bid algorithm. Rank1Local does not authorize outreach content that references fabricated business names, simulated rankings, or advertisers who have not completed enrollment.
Where a service category or city market has not yet reached a minimum of three enrolled advertisers, Rank1Local does not generate ranking-based outreach for that category. Instead, eligible businesses in such categories may be contacted under the beta-invitation program, which is clearly identified as a pre-launch invitation to join the marketplace rather than a disclosure of an existing competitive ranking. Businesses that receive a beta-invitation communication may confirm its legitimacy or request removal from future outreach using the contact details in Section 14.
Questions, verifiable consumer requests to exercise California rights under the CCPA/CPRA, Global Privacy Control opt-out confirmations, or general privacy inquiries may be directed to Rank1Local using any of the following methods. As a business headquartered in Temecula, California, Rank1Local processes California privacy requests directly:
Rank1Local may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
